We will explore proportion, massing, tone control, warm and cool colour, and bringing things to a finish, using direct painting techniques. \u003c\/span\u003e There will be a single, long-term sitting for the duration of the workshop. The academic method allows participants to explore all aspects of portraiture including anatomical structure, planes of the face, expressive brushwork, achieving a likeness, etc. \u003cspan style=\"line-height: 115%;\"\u003eWe will make a quick black and white value study to pin down our compositions and make decisions about what to keep and what to simplify.
